Soccer Facility Weaves Youth and Professional Leagues Together

Musco Light-Structure Green™ systems have been installed in one of the most unique soccer facilities in the world. Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas opened August 6 with 17 championship-quality amateur soccer fields built next to a 20,000-seat Major League Soccer stadium.

Hunt Sports Group, investor and operator of three Major League Soccer teams, collaborated with the City of Frisco, Collin County, and the Frisco Independent School District to finance the project.

With Light-Structure Green's technology, the operating cost savings for the youth fields alone is projected to be over $32,000 annually. Using a 25-year estimated life, the life cycle cost reduction is projected to be over $800,000.

This facility is expected to have a huge impact on the sport of soccer in the U.S. It will be used approximately 300 days a year and host an estimated 1.4 million spectators and participants. In addition. Pizza Hut Park, home of the MLS' FC Dallas (formerly known as the Dallas Burn) , will be the site of the Major League Soccer Cup 2005 in November.
