Night golf adds revenue and activities
Crosswinds Golf Club Savannah, Georgia

Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, GA, is a new, Musco-lighted 9-hole, par 3 course.

Facility planners at Crosswinds Golf Club chose to light the new par 3 course to draw from a
variety of revenue sources, including working people and families.
Night play also provides a much cooler environment, an important issue in the middle of hot Georgia summers.
Local, unlighted courses often resort to special rates during this time to attract attendance.
But mid-summer is the peak time for Crosswinds, boosting significant revenue for the club.
Reviews and attendance have been great, says Paul Scott, club manager.
We started out being open four nights a week, but well need to extend that to six nights
due to its popularity, he continued.
Lighting designs needed to meet FAA approval since the course is located next to Savannah
International Airport. We knew Musco systems at Daytona International Speedway passed
FAA requirements, so we werent too worried about it, said Scott.
