Musco Lighting has agreed to donate temporary lighting services for The Final Season's nighttime
shots. Two Musco Light trucks will supplement existing field
lighting for appropriate quantity and quality of light necessary for the cameras. Musco has lighted movie sets
since the early 1980s, including Titanic, Pearl Harbor
and Field of Dreams. The Final Season is based on the true story of the 1991 Norway, Iowa High School
baseball team. It is the story about the efforts of a community and team to continue a strong tradition of
baseball's roots in America despite overwhelming odds.
In addition to providing lighting, when the production crew found out the existing scoreboard wasn't functioning
properly, Musco again stepped up to help. Through their business relationship with Daktronics, the country's
premiere supplier of scoreboards, Musco provided and installed a new scoreboard, complete with remote wireless control.
We're pleased to assist in making this film happen, said Jeff Rogers, Musco vice president. It's
a good story, and it's good for Iowa, he added.
When the filming for the movie is complete, Musco still won't be done. The existing lighting system at the city park
where much of the filming takes place is over 20 years old, and in dire need of upgrading for energy efficiency. We
have a new product on the market now that saves over half the energy and maintenance costs of other lighting systems, said
Rogers. We plan to install this Green Generation lighting
system for the community of Norway after the movie production is complete, he added.
