Previous Method of

Keys / Staff / Timer System: Keys were issed to coaches for three parks, staff turned lights on / off at one facility, old timer system on one facility. Lights were sometimes left on all night and security was an issue at the remote parks. Timer on sprinklers malfunctioned, and by the time staff was able to get to field 30 minutes later, the fields were soaked and unplayable.

Typically saving one hour energy usage per night at 4 of the parks, and 1/2 hour at the 5th. Saving 2 hours of labor for one of the parks per night. Park usages range from 144 days to 208 nights per year.

Other Benefits Security: Security for personnel at remote locations, person is in the car with money bags before they call for lights off.
Monitoring: Easy monitoring of facility usage via Control-Link Central™ web site reports for Administrator; billing usage fees (generate $2,100 per year @ $10 per hour).
Irrigation System: Emergency shut off for irrigation system malfunction eliminates soaked field that interrupts play.

Used for baseball - city is divided by highway with parks located both North and South creating traffic time.
Previous Method of

Ranger Staff: Lights were turned on / off by Rangers (law enforcement officers). Due to travel time and to allow for emergency service calls, Rangers would frequently need to start turning on lights two hours early. Often lights were left on long after the event while they handled other responsibilities.

Control-Link Central: User groups call Rangers for early off or to extend play, Rangers call Control-Link Central.

Public Concern: Eliminated complaints from neighbors about lights being left on long after events.

Staff / Keys: Tennis court / walking track lights were turned on when staff left for the day and usually left on all night. Keys issued to coaches for soccer and softball fields.
