The Challenge

Valley High School faced two major challenges; first, with one of the light poles located within the bleachers, any new lighting would have to take that into account and design a system with that unique pole location in mind. Second, this facility is located deep within the city of Las Vegas, which meant that controlling the spill and glare was essential. Additionally, school leaders wanted to upgrade light levels and uniformity, improve energy efficiency, and increase safety for players through better on-field visibility.

The Solution

Valley High School turned to Musco due to its extensive experience and expertise in system design and project management. Musco’s project team safely and successfully pulled the existing pole in the bleachers out, assembled the new fixture assembly while it was on the ground, and then lifted and set it back into its location. The retrofitted Total Light Control–TLC for LED™ system has reduced spill and glare in the heavily populated area surrounding the stadium and visibility for players and fans has been significantly enhanced as a result of the system’s superior light quality and uniformity.
