Davis Field at Idaho State University (ISU) has been an integral part of the Bengals community since 1936. The most significant change the field had seen in its nearly century-long tenure is its transition from football to hosting women’s soccer and track. School leaders worked to gain approval to renovate the stadium for years, so when permission was granted, they planned an extensive overhaul. A portion of the project included adding field lighting so that practices could be extended into the evening and the venue could meet NCAA lighting standards for hosting competitions at night. ISU leaders also wanted to explore the capabilities of special effects lighting in hopes of introducing an exciting new experience to Bengals game nights.
After evaluating several sports lighting providers, project leaders determined Musco’s Total Light Control – TLC for LED™ system and Show-Light® entertainment package would best achieve their goals. The system’s factory-aimed luminaires and superior light control achieve light levels that satisfy NCAA requirements for competitions, meet standards for television broadcasts, and provide a safer environment for nighttime games and practices. The Show-Light package produces cutting-edge light shows and special effects for player introductions and game time celebrations, while Musco’s comprehensive warranty eliminates maintenance costs on the system through the year 2030.
