“We thank the National Recreation and Park Association and Musco Lighting for supporting the Lafitte Greenway through the 2017 Parks Build Project. This beautiful corridor is used daily by residents and connects neighbors throughout the city through its path. With this investment, we will continue to change the lives of our residents and create healthy, safe spaces in our community.”

New Orleans Recreation
Children and families in the Lafitte Greenway community of New Orleans are enjoying new recreational opportunities thanks to a newly built park, made possible by the National Recreation and Parks Association’s (NRPA) annual Parks Build Community Program.
As a sponsor of the NRPA program, Musco donated its Total Light Control—TLC for LED® system to be used throughout the new park and playground, as a way to help expand activities and let community members enjoy the facilities after the sun goes down.
With the TLC for LED system in place, the playground will benefit from high-quality lighting for its outdoor basketball courts, multi-purpose field, and playground equipment. The system’s patented light and glare control technology will eliminate glare or spill from negatively impacting the nearby French Quarter RV Resort, homes and businesses along Lafitte Avenue. and St. Louis Street., or drivers on Interstate 10.
Additionally, the project included new bleachers, fitness equipment, and playground equipment. In all, approximately $1 million in materials and equipment was donated for the project. The Lafitte Greenway park build is a centerpiece of a larger renovation and refurbishing project throughout other portions of the Greenway that include new infrastructure and community resource facilities.
