City officials in Georgetown, Kentucky, wanted to increase recreational opportunities for the community by building a new city park with four softball fields and four tennis courts capable of hosting local tournaments, practices, and events. As one of the fastest growing communities in the state, city officials needed the facilities to be available later in the evenings and wanted state-of-the-art technology that would create an unbelievable atmosphere at Great Crossing Park with superior visibility and advanced light control capabilities.
Georgetown partnered with Musco previously on projects and knew of the company’s ability to provide high-quality solutions that would satisfy the city’s goals. They opted for new Total Light Control – TLC for LED™ technology to be installed at both facilities. The system’s custom optics around the LEDs help deliver cleaner, more uniform light to the playing surface while the patented visoring technology cuts off wasted spill light and redirects it back onto the playing surface—providing a visual atmosphere unmatched by most community parks.
