As leaders at Healdsburg High School in Sonoma, California, prepped for upgrades to the school’s soccer stadium, they discovered their budget would allow for new lighting at two of the school’s softball diamonds as well. Project leaders wanted to include lighting at the soccer field as part of its stadium overhaul, and new lights were needed at the softball facilities to resolve problems with inadequate light levels and glare affecting neighbors. To achieve its goals, Healdsburg needed a cost-effective lighting solution that would satisfy the distinct needs of each facility while providing the best possible light control.
Healdsburg worked with Musco on lighting projects in the past and determined Musco’s customization and light control capabilities provided the best possible solution. The school opted for a new TLC for LED® system at the soccer facility and retrofitted this same technology onto existing light poles at each softball field. Visibility is enhanced for players and fans as a result of the system achieving greater on-field light levels and improving uniformity. The patented fixture visoring and light control technology minimizes glare and ensures spill light won’t affect neighboring properties or roadways, while Musco’s parts and labor warranty eliminates maintenance costs through the year 2043.
