Mt. San Antonio College Accomplishes Significant Lighting Upgrade, Certifying Stadium to Host Olympic Trials

The Challenge

Mt. San Antonio College’s (Mt. SAC) Hilmer Lodge Stadium was built in 1948 and earned worldwide recognition after the Mt. SAC Relays developed into one of world’s largest track meets. This encouraged school officials to pursue a complete facility upgrade that would include new LED lighting to help accomplish the school’s goal of hosting the Olympic Trials. Their top priority was to improve light levels and visibility while minimizing spill and glare in order to satisfy the International Association of Athletics Federations’ (IAAF) lighting standards and preserve darkness for the surrounding community.
