Rutgers University is recognized for its commitment towards producing a first-class football program within one of the best conferences in college sports. Most recently, the university has advanced its football program by renovating its training center, with the first phase of the project involving the transformation of the Marco Battaglia Practice Complex that includes three turf fields. As part of the renovation, school leaders wanted to install state-of-the-art LED lighting from a manufacturer who could offer optimal visibility as well as advanced control and monitoring features to better showcase the facility and attract new talent.
Rutgers leadership had already used Musco’s lights for other facilities on campus and visited outdoor fields with its systems to ensure they would receive the best possible solution. They again partnered with Musco and opted for its Total Light Control—TLC for LED™ technology. The system’s custom optics around the LEDs and patented visoring technology produces ideal light levels and uniformity on the playing surface while minimizing glare to create superior visibility. Additionally, with Musco’s Control‑Link® controls and monitoring service, the system can be operated instantly, from anywhere, via cell phone.
“Here at Rutgers, we want to provide the best experience for our student athletes. Our goal is to help each athlete train to the best of their ability. When working in facilities and operations you must pay attention to the details and having the best lighting was a key component for the Marco Battaglia Practice Complex. With the help of Musco, we can see our athletes shine.”
