The Challenge

Settled just blocks from the Atlantic Coast, Ocean Isle Beach Park offers a unique location and provides recreational offerings to visiting tourists and members of the local community. When leaders with Brunswick County Parks and Recreation moved ahead with expanding the existing park, they needed lighting for new softball and baseball fields, as well as basketball courts. They wanted to exceed the expectations of visitors utilizing the new facilities at night with the best light quality possible, while also avoiding the creation of spill light and glare onto the adjacent properties and tourist attractions.

The Solution

A longtime partner with Musco and having been happy with the company’s HID solutions, leaders with Brunswick County were confident that Musco’s Total Light Control – TLC for LED™ system would best meet all of its needs for the park expansion project. The new lighting system at Ocean Isle Beach Park provides superior light quality, gives the facilities a memorable look and feel for visiting tourists, and with its exceptional control capabilities preserves darkness for neighboring properties. And the organization won’t have to pay any maintenance costs on the lighting for 25 years.
