Named in honor Ouachita Baptist’s most successful alumnus to play in the NFL, Cliff Harris Stadium was designed to provide an unmatched experience for student-athletes and fans. When it was time to upgrade their 10-year-old stadium lighting, the Tigers did their homework to find a lighting provider that could provide peak on-field illumination and advanced light show technology to rival anything in NCAA Division II football.
Inspired by the custom lighting effects used by an out-of-state competitor, Athletic Director David Sharp made a few calls that led him to Musco. After some initial conversations, Sharp flew to Muscatine, Iowa, for a comprehensive tour of Musco’s manufacturing facility, where he was impressed by the workmanship at every stage of Musco’s foundation-to-poletop system design. He also saw a demonstration of the Show-Light® entertainment technology that would eventually make its home debut at Cliff Harris Stadium in October 2024. The Tigers enjoy enhanced safety, visibility, and player and fan experience, backed by a comprehensive warranty that eliminates maintenance costs and concerns on their lighting system until 2049.
“In my 25-year career in athletics I’ve been to a lot of stadiums across the country. I always ask, ‘Who did your lights?’ and the Musco name always comes up. When you talk to the Musco team, tour their facilities, and see the results they achieve, it’s easy to see why Musco is the industry leader.”
