Alabama’s Pike Road School District opened Pike Road High School at the historic Georgia Washington Middle School campus in 2018. The opening of the new school created opportunities for students within the school district to compete in varsity sports, which in turn led the district to build a new football field that would allow students and community members to compete and gather for various events. The school needed field lighting at the facility and wanted a manufacturer that could provide the best possible visibility, optimal light control capabilities, and state-of-the-art special effects technology.
After seeing Musco’s ability to precisely control light and create custom solutions for every project, the school chose to install a Total Light Control – TLC for LEDâ„¢ system at Patriots Field. The system produces optimal light levels on the field while minimizing glare and spill light in areas around the stadium. Musco’s Control-Link® controls service allows the school to control the lights from anywhere via smartphone as well as includes features to dim the lights. And the Show-Light® special effects package with RGBW accent lights helps energize players and fans with cutting-edge light shows that also synchronize with music.
“One of our goals is to give the players the best high school experience possible. And at the end of the day, you look at what Musco has done with partnering with us, I truly believe that if you’re playing here, you’re going to experience one of the coolest high school environments ever. “
