The Challenge

The impressive Sage Valley Golf Club has taken the sport to new heights after reconfiguring a portion of its expansive playing area into an illuminated 9-hole par 3 course. The club’s dedication to providing state-of-the-art amenities, such as new Bermudagrass and superior dining and leisure selections, inspired leaders to make nighttime play available to its guests. To compliment its serene setting and accomplish this unique golf experience, the Club not only needed a system that would allow players to track the flight of the ball through the night sky, but also a partner willing to go above and beyond to help successfully implement this new era of golf.

The Solution

Sage Valley Golf Course connected with Musco through a mutual partner, and after learning of the company’s superior technology and vast experience in the sports lighting industry, the club opted for its Total Light Control – TLC for LED™ system. The system targets uniform lighting down onto the tees, greens, and fairways while Musco’s BallTracker® technology directs light upward to create more contrast between the ball and the sky that enables golfers to track it’s entire flight. Musco’s Control-Link® service allows the Club to instantly operate the lights via smartphone, while Musco’s parts and labor warranty eliminates maintenance costs through the year 2044. Additionally, Musco was able to help preserve the club’s unique aesthetic by painting the poles green to better blend with the background of the course.
