The Challenge

While renovating its football stadium to accommodate increasing use, Wayland Union High decided to upgrade its metal halide lighting system. District leaders were eager to save energy with LED technology and replace the stadium’s wooden poles with newer and more reliable structural components. It was also important that the new lighting system be easy to operate and backed by a warranty that relieves the burden and cost of maintenance.

The Solution

Wayland reached out to engineering firm TowerPinkster and Triangle Associates, Inc. (CM), which both firms have developed a strong relationship with Musco Lighting through past collaborations. TowerPinkster specified Musco’s energy-efficient TLC for LED® system, which features galvanized steel poles with built-in lighting grounding and precast concrete bases that resist corrosion. The factory-aimed fixtures produce the desired light levels on the field, while their patented visoring preserves dark nights for neighbors. Control-Link® monitoring allows facility staff to operate the lights instantly via smartphone, and Musco’s comprehensive warranty covers every part and all labor for 25 years.
