Sacred Heart School in Omaha, Nebraska, has provided education to pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students for over 100 years and continues to dedicate time and resources to giving back to its community. With an underutilized asphalt play area outside the school deteriorating, Sacred Heart wanted to repurpose the space into an athletic resource that would provide fun afterschool activities and safer recreational opportunities for the entire community. School leaders determined that building a new soccer pitch would be an effective strategy for both enhancing the aesthetic of the space and increasing recreation.
Sacred Heart partnered with Kick it Forward, Christian Urban Education Services (CUES), and Krause Group to have Musco’s Mini-Pitch System™ modular sports solution installed at the school. Complete with fencing, goals, benches, and ADA-compliant access, the mini-pitch serves as an all-inclusive athletic resource that extends playtime into the night with Musco’s Total Light Control—TLC for LED™ lighting. The all-weather sports tile provides an easy-to-manage and visually appealing athletic playing surface guaranteed to last well into the future while Musco’s parts and labor warranty eliminates all maintenance costs until the year 2032. Additionally, Sacred Heart opted for a multisport solution and had basketball hoops and court lines incorporated into the pitch.
“It was an absolute privilege to work with Musco on the mini-pitch at Sacred Heart School. They partnered with us to ensure the solution would be appropriate for the space and safe for our students. The quality of the mini-pitch is amazing, and our students use it in a variety of ways every day.”
