The City of Casper, Wyoming, ensures its residents are equipped with the resources necessary to live healthy, active lifestyles through continual maintenance of its recreational facilities. This commitment to its community prompted city leaders to upgrade a heavily-used baseball field at North Casper Sports Complex, where local residents host slow pitch softball games and other sporting events. With the field’s old metal halide technology falling below expectations, project leaders needed a cost-effective LED sports lighting system with advanced light control capabilities to enhance playability and mitigate glare and spill light well into the future.
Having worked with Musco on lighting projects in the past and learning of its ability to help save time and money by reusing the electrical wiring already installed at the field, the city chose to again partner with the company and install its Total Light Control – TLC for LED™ technology. With factory-aimed fixtures based on photometric designs created by Musco’s lighting application engineers, the system achieves suitable light levels on the field while its patented visoring minimizes spill light and glare around the facility. Musco’s Control-Link® service enables remote operation with the touch of a smartphone, while the comprehensive warranty ensures Casper won’t pay any maintenance costs until the year 2047.
