Show-Light® Entertainment System
Next Steps for Custom Programming

What to Expect

Our Engineering Team and your Sales Coordinator will work with you to ensure the system is ready to provide a memorable game night experience for your players and fans.

In this article learn how to:

Select Your Scenes and Effects

Scenes

  • Scenes are static lighting displays that do not change.
  • Common selections include: Highlighting introductions by dimming selected lights or showing school colors on optional color luminaires.
  • Customers may select up to 30 lighting scenes.
  • Scene programming must be requested within 90 days of commissioning.

Effects

  • Effects are dynamic repeating lighting sequences.
  • In addition to four standard lighting effects (chase, wave, marquee, and random), you may select two optional effects.
  • Effects must be requested within 12 months of commissioning.

Select Your Light Shows

  • Your system also includes four minutes of light show programming synchronized to music.
  • Decide which special events to highlight, how long each show will run, and the music for each show.
  • Think about things like your team entry, halftime shows, beginning of a quarter, or the big win celebration!
  • All custom programming requires a minimum of 14 days from the time we receive your music, so make sure to plan accordingly to be ready for the big game.
  • Show programming must be requested within 12 months of commissioning.

Ensure You Have Music Licensing

  • No license is required for songs for which you are the rights holder, songs available in the public domain, or Creative Commons. FreePD and Freesound are good resources.
  • Public performance licenses are available for most popular music through performing rights organizations ASCAP, BMI, GMR, or SESAC.
  • If you have questions about music licensing or public performance we recommend consulting with a legal professional who is aware of your specific circumstances.

Send Us Your Music

Provide your music to Musco in .mp3 format. Please cut the segment out of your song of choice to match the show length.
Email audio files to: scheduling@musco.com.

Provide Light Show Notifications

We follow industry best practices to minimize the potential impact for those with photosensitivity.

It’s important for you to post notifications about the use of flashing lights during events so affected individuals can plan accordingly.

Common Methods

  • Facility signage visible to fans and visiting teams.
  • Notifications on tickets and/or website.
  • Announcements at the beginning of the game.
