The Challenge

When leaders at Greater Lawrence Technical School (GLTS) moved forward with plans to provide more athletic spaces and opportunities on their campus, they set out to create the best possible experience for players and fans. Phase one of the project called for renovations at the football stadium which also accommodates soccer and track, while phase two consisted of combining the softball and baseball fields into one large space to create a multisport facility that includes youth soccer fields. Leaders wanted to equip the facilities and walkways with LED lighting and needed a partner that could meet specifications for multiple sports while providing adequate light control and easy operation.

The Solution

The system’s factory-aimed fixtures achieve lighting specifications on every playing surface—including all areas of the multisport field—while also illuminating walkways without affecting surrounding facilities with light spill. The school gains remote operation of the lights via smartphone as well as scheduling capabilities for practices and events that extend later into the night. Additionally, Musco’s comprehensive warranty eliminates maintenance costs until the year 2042.
