As leaders at Jamestown High School explored options that would allow their football program to step onto a new or updated field as quickly as possible, the University of Jamestown (UJ) was contemplating a similar issue just down the block. With a community eager to provide funding, both schools’ vision came to fruition as they accepted terms of a shared-use agreement for UJ’s existing Rollie Greeno Field. Soon after, project leaders prepared the stadium for high school and college athletic events with facility upgrades that included the addition of field lighting. Goals for a new system were to deliver the necessary light levels and uniformity for the best possible visibility and ensure trouble-free operation well into the future.
The University’s project planning team worked with Musco on several other lighting installations, and again partnered with the company due to its superior industry experience and technical expertise. They chose to install Musco’s Total Light Control – TLC for LEDâ„¢ technology. With factory-aimed fixtures based on photometric designs created by Musco’s lighting application engineers, the system achieves optimal light levels across the field and track for the best possible playing and viewing experience. The facility included Musco’s Control-Link® service for simplified operation of the lights and 24/7 monitoring of the system’s performance, as well as gained Musco’s parts and labor warranty that eliminates maintenance costs through the year 2046.
“We installed a Musco system when we constructed our soccer complex, and it is second to none. This made Musco’s system a bid specification when we completely renovated our football stadium and track. There is no comparison to the product they offer in the lighting industry.”
