The Challenge

Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium is one of Western Canada’s premier venues and home to the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Vancouver Whitecaps. As a CFL and MLS venue, the stadium is required to meet distinct lighting and broadcast standards. With its existing system experiencing frequent maintenance issues and too old for repair, the stadium needed a solution that would satisfy CFL and MLS requirements while enhancing the overall entertainment experience with state-of-the-art light shows and special effects.

The Solution

Stadium officials knew of Musco’s ability to custom design light systems for professional venues and were confident Musco would provide the ideal solution. They chose to have a custom Total Light Control – TLC for LED™ system with Show-Light+® entertainment package retrofitted onto the existing support structures. With Musco’s patented light control technology and ability to precisely place and aim fixtures, the lighting meets necessary standards for both leagues and minimizes glare from affecting anyone in the stadium. And the system energizes game nights with an array of color-changing special effects and cutting-edge light shows.
