Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, wanted to upgrade the aging lighting system at its football stadium with a more energy-efficient solution utilizing LED fixtures. With the previous system becoming outdated and receiving hail damage, school leaders decided to pursue an advanced system that could provide optimal visibility to the track, bleachers, and field with the application of precise and controlled lighting capabilities. The school also wanted the new system to provide an easier approach to operating and scheduling the lights as well as ensure quality and performance through a proactive warranty.
After learning of Musco’s reputation in the lighting industry and becoming familiar with the company’s parts and labor warranty, Pine-Richland partnered with Musco to retrofit its Total Light Control—TLC for LED™ technology onto the existing structures. To ensure desired areas are properly lit, Musco custom designed a solution with an arrangement of smaller fixtures on the back of the poles. The system’s custom optics and factory-aiming capability helps deliver cleaner, more uniform light to the field while Musco’s Control-Link® controls and monitoring service allows staff to schedule and operate the lights with the touch of a smartphone. Additionally, the warranty ensures that every part and all labor for the system is covered through 2030.
“We like and appreciate the light quality and even spread of light on the field as well as the ability to control and schedule lighting online. Since both of our fields have the same setup, the teams can practice under the same conditions as their games.”
