The Challenge

After making significant enhancements to the seating, turf, concessions, and other amenities at Chad Richison Stadium, the University of Central Oklahoma was looking for an LED field lighting upgrade that would add a final flourish to the player and fan experience. The ideal lighting system would interface with the stadium’s other audio/visual features, including LED ribbons and a 10mm video board, to provide an immersive light show experience – not only during Bronchos home games, but also when the stadium hosts the Oklahoma State High School Championships.

The Solution

The Bronchos turned to the team at Musco, who they know and trust as the field lighting provider for their baseball, softball, and soccer fields. They replaced the previous HID lighting at Chad Richison Stadium with Musco’s Total Light Control—TLC for LED™ system, delivering enhanced, uniform light levels that improved visibility throughout the stadium. Musco’s Show-Light® entertainment package equipped the facility with color-changing RGBW technology and a range of special effects that integrate with other A/V elements to accentuate player introductions, touchdowns, victory celebrations, and other big game moments. A comprehensive warranty ensures the Bronchos won’t pay any maintenance costs until 2049.
