The Challenge

The winningest team in the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), the Red Devils of Mexico fulfilled a decades-long dream to build a home of their own that would match their elite play. Mexico City’s first new stadium in 50 years, Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú was designed to be at the forefront of technology and sustainability. In order to host international games, the stadium needed an LED sports lighting system that was trusted within the industry and able to perform to Major League Baseball (MLB) standards for international seasonal games. Ideally, the new system would already be approved by MLB, offer cutting-edge entertainment features, and integrate with the stadium’s modern aesthetic.

The Solution

Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú knew that Musco’s LED technology was approved by MLB and in use at several Major League stadiums, so they chose to equip Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú with a custom Total Light Control – TLC for LED™ system. Custom photometric designs created by Musco’s application engineers ensure MLB standards for international seasonal games are met while energy consumption is kept low. The sleek luminaires complement the stadium’s modern look, and their patented visoring prevents glare from affecting players or fans. Show-Light® Pro Venue special effects allow the Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú to thrill fans with custom light shows synchronized to music, and every part and all labor on the system is covered for 10 years by Musco’s long-term warranty. In 2023, Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú hosted the first regular-season MLB series in Mexico City.
