St. Vrain Valley School District’s decision to add field lighting to three of its high school football fields marked the beginning of a new era for the Niwot community. Previously, Niwot High School’s football team shared a stadium with two other schools, and some games were played on Thursday or Saturday night to accommodate each team’s schedule. Additionally, players had to rush to practice after school and cut practices short to be off the field before dark. To allow a traditional “Friday Night Lights” experience at Niwot’s own facility, a lighting system would need to include advanced light control capabilities to ensure residents neighboring field would remain unaffected by glare or spill light.
Having recently completed other successful lighting projects with the company, St. Vrain was confident Musco’s Total Light Control – TLC for LED™ technology provided the best possible solution. The system accomplishes optimal light levels on both the field and track to provide the best possible visibility for nighttime use and can be operated instantly, from anywhere, via smartphone using Musco’s Control-Link® controls service. Additionally, the system’s customizable optics, factory-aiming capability, and patented visoring technology combine to eliminate glare and prevent light from intruding past the facility’s property line. Thanks to Musco’s warranty, which covers every part and all labor for the system through the year 2045, Niwot can look forward to enjoying a premium “Friday Night Lights” experience for many years to come.
