The University of Portland’s recent 35-acre campus expansion project consisted of building two new soccer fields with high-quality lighting that would extend field use into the evenings. To accomplish their lighting goals, the University needed a custom-designed solution capable of overcoming architectural challenges ensued by the soft, unstable sand beneath the surface of the fields’ unique waterfront location.
With Musco lighting all but two outdoor sporting venues on Franz Campus, The University knew they would get top-notch lighting and service. The premier design and structural expertise of its architects and engineers, as well as Musco’s 5 Easy Pieces™ complete system approach, relieved all concerns regarding the installation. Musco’s strategically placed light poles stabilized with a precast concrete base were able to provide the system with a reliable foundation for the soft soil beneath the fields.
“We really appreciated Musco’s ‘can do’ attitude on what was a tough logistical project. Musco worked with us every step of the way to create solutions that will benefit University of Portland students for years to come.”
